Installation varies depending upon the model of Ultimate lamp in question.  The DMP-MB3 pictured above

Requires only that the lamp be set carefully in place to begin many years of enjoyment.  

 

READING MUSIC WITHOUT THE DMP ULTIMATE ORGAN LAMP

Reading music with illumination that is too intense as is experienced with florescent or typical halogen bulbs creates a tremendous amount of excessive reflected light that is directed back into the eye of the reader.  The iris closes in order to limit the light being reflected.  The closing of the iris defeats the original intention of the illumination…..to light the music print to be easily visible.  What happens next is that the eye and brain work in a continuous strained relationship in attempting to interpret the information in print.  Most of the process is not conscious since most people have lived with the type of circumstances described for many years.  Add the just described set of circumstances to the fact that the illumination of the page is not consistent from top to bottom, left to right.  This effect only exacerbates the already strained relationship of the eye and brain in the constant adjustment process that takes place as the eye scans the page make multiple and numerous corrections for light variances.  Obviously, after years of experiencing the described set of circumstances, a toll is exercised on the eyes as well as other stress related effects.  Proper illumination of the printed page is critical over the long term for everyone.  However,  the musician faces a much more critical situation in stress related conditions since not only is the musician reading printed material, but performing physical tasks as well at the same time.  Therefore, imagine, if you will, what would happen to your music performance or talent development if most of these  distractions between the eye and the brain caused by poor illumination conditions were eliminated.  The result would be more focus on the result of the performance that presents that unique part of who you are!

            i.e. ...the illumination does not cause color distortions on the camera lens pick-up.

            The DMP Ultimate Organ Lamp can control the illumination pattern by ROTATING THE BARREL

            in order to limit the upper light margin.

LAMP DIMENSIONS

Width:  Lamp rail 24”;  Base Width:  28”

Height with base:  Lamp rail is 12” above the base;  Lamp arms may be flexed when installed to extend an additional two to three inches;   Lamp rail extends approximately 10 inches beyond base edge depending upon any flex that may be performed.

HOW LONG DO THE BULBS LAST

DMP has had the Ultimate Organ Lamp in test market for  almost four years.   During that time period, there have been –0-- (ZERO) bulb failures.  The bulbs were designed to have extended life for the original equipment for which they were designed in order to insure reliability in critical applications.   HOW LONG DO THE BULBS LAST…..we don’t know.   At least four years as our clients can attest to.   The additional good news is that the cost of the bulbs is minimal in the event of failure.  Either you or your technician may obtain bulbs that may be expressed from DMP for a minimal charge of $12.65 per set plus shipping.

CARE OF THE DMP ULTIMATE ORGAN LAMP

We highly recommend  that a surge suppression unit be engaged in order to insure the longest possible service from the DMP Ultimate Lamp.  The DMP Ultimate Lamp may also be plugged into an existing surge suppression unit that may already be in place for the organ.  Consult your local technician.  This preventative measure will insure the longest possible bulb and transformer life for the DMP Ultimate Lamp.

A soft non-abrasive soft cloth may be used for dusting.  With the lamp unplugged, a damp cloth may be used to remove fingerprints etc. followed with drying by a non-abrasive soft cloth.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY DMP ULTIMATE LAMP

Each DMP Ultimate Organ Lamp is hand crafted.  Each lamp is hand assembled and packed.   Most of our lamp models are packed as needed  with the insta-pack system that utilizes expanding foam that creates a mold in which the unit rests in  the crate.  Our shipping system utilized provides excellent protection against damage.  In the unfortunate event that damage should occur, we will reship the lamp.  The shipping insurance will cover shipment damage.  It is therefore very important to note any exterior damage upon receipt by the carrier.  We use Fed Ex and DHL  ground for all DMP Ultimate Lamp shipments.   We will ship any degree of express upon the client’s request.

WARRANTY

The manufacturer, Del Mar Productions Int’l., provides a one year limited manufacturer’s warranty against product failure i.e. transformer or lamp failure.  The transformer will be replaced for failure within one year from the date of purchase.  DMP will provide bulb replacement on a once only occasion during the first 90 days of use should bulb failure occur.  The defective bulb must be returned to the manufacturer.   If bulb failure occurs more than once in a year’s period of time, the failure will be contributed to voltage surge problems.  It is therefore recommended that a surge suppressor be initially engaged for the DMP Ultimate Lamp.
